Copy and paste one page of a table of contents. Then, briefly describe the purpose of each heading on that page. For instance, include the unit title, the chapter title, item within the chapter, author in the chapter… Think of a topic that you have been covering in one of your classes. Now, using the textbook for that class, explain how the textbook table of contents gives you a mini-outline of the chapter covering that topic. Make a handout that explains and demonstrates the many types of lists including: bulleted list, numbered list, and an instruction list where each line begins with a verb. Be sure to make your model lists vertically. |
